Wood and Fire Pizza

One of the newest editions to the restaurant arsenal in Briarcliff and Pleasantville is the recently opened and delectable Wood and Fire Pizza. Taking the place of Amangerie along Marble Avenue, Wood and Fire is a pizza and grill restaurant that will make you come back again and again. Even though they sell other dishes besides pizza, they’re known for their creative and delicious pies. Cooked in the scorching hearth of a stone oven, these pizzas are made to order and come out crispy and heavenly.

Their menu ranges from a plain margherita slice to pizzas pilled high with toppings. My two favorite pies are the wood and fire pie and the salsiccia. The wood and fire pizza consists of chicken cutlet, hot cherry peppers, tomatoes and mozzarella. It has a fantastic combination of spicy and savory with the chicken cutlet adding a nice crisp bite. The salsiccia is made o f crumbled sausage, mozzarella, Italian chilies, broccoli rabe pesto and lemon bread crumbs. This pizza has a slight kick but is balanced out with the softer flavors from the pesto and sausage. They also have fantastic salads at the restaurant, my favorite being the W&F salad with pickled onions, arugula, fontina, tomatoes, cucumber and a house made vinaigrette.

There truly isn’t much to say about W&F except that it’s a mouthwatering place to get a pizza pie or a tasty meal. The atmosphere is cozy, and in the summer, it’s especially nice to sit out on the patio. Overall, I highly recommend checking the place out and seeing what all the fuss is about.
