In the spring of 2012, Briarcliff juniors Jonah Kaul and Jamie Hamilton started the Happiness Club. You have probably seen their irrelevant posters featuring Gandhi or “Adventure Time’s” Lady Rainicorn but still don’t know what it is this club does. “We have drum circles of course. We also play frisbee, watch “Adventure Time,” and draw. We do what ever we want,” says Kaul. The concept of the club is not as complicated as people make it out to be. It exists to make people happy.

Happiness Club meets on Wednesdays after school in Ms. Alfonso’s room. Though they meet on a weekly basis with a solid turnout, the group is still not recognized as an official school club. If you are fan of being a sad person, Happiness Club is probably not for you. For those of you that enjoy happiness in the form of drum circles and the other aforementioned activities, you might consider joining and making the Happiness Club and official club. “It’s a happy time,” said Ms. Alfonso.
