Restaurant Review: Haven

By Lauren Friedman

Haven Restaurant PleasantvilleHaven, located in Pleasantville, is the perfect restaurant for a nice evening out. The address is 472 Bedford Road. Haven is available for both lunch and dinner.

I enjoyed eating at this restaurant. The menu offers a soup of the day, and many different salads, appetizers, pastas, and entrées. One of their popular appetizers is the Prince Edward Island Mussels, which tastes absolutely delicious. Another great appetizer choice is the Jumbo Lump Crabmeat “Popover.” This comes in a small portion, but the taste is magnificent. There are four different pasta dishes that all sound great! The Truffled Mac & Cheese may sound childish, however, the cheese really stands out and is quite good. Haven offers eleven different entrées that have varieties of different meats and seafood. My personal favorite entrée is the Grilled Marinated Hanger Steak, and the Haven Veggie Burger is perfect for those vegetarians out there. The food is appetizing and reasonably priced.

The atmosphere in Haven was adult-friendly. It had dimmed lighting at night with elegant artwork hung on the walls. There were mainly adults there with a few younger people. Attire is casual chic. A nice shirt and a pair of jeans is the right outfit to wear out for dinner. The service is very friendly. The primary waitress is a very nice lady who makes good conversation and an occasional joke, and the other waiters are fast, but don’t talk a lot. The chef sometimes even comes out to see how you liked his meal. The workers are overall very welcoming.

Haven is a local restaurant to attend and is reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend Haven.
