maddie.pngEvery few years, an athlete of extraordinary talent passes through BHS. We have just this in this year’s graduating class with Maddie Plank. Not only has she excelled in the classroom, but she has also reached the highest heights athletically. Her hard work and determination led to her receiving 1st team All-State, Super 7 recognition and a spot in the 2023 class at Princeton University. During National Signing Day, Maddie made it official with the Tigers, signing next to her family, her teammates and her coach. Maddie has been on varsity girls’ basketball since 8th grade where she has led the team to multiple Section Championship appearances. In her final game during her junior year season, she scored 40 points during the Section Championship in a loss to Irvington. During the offseason, Plank had an injury that has led to her absence for the beginning of her senior season, but she hopes to be back to help fellow All-State players Alana Lombardi and Kacey Hamlin bring the Gold Ball back to Briarcliff High School. Maddie has impressed in all aspects of life, and I think that all of us will be eager to see her succeed both athletically and academically at such a prestigious university.
