Previously this year the Bulletin put out an article on eight future collegiate athletes that are graduating this year. That article stated “there are more to come,” and the class of 2021 did not disappoint.
We have shed light on the following future NCAA athletes:
- Catherine Flanagan: Duke University Women’s Fencing
- Ashleigh Fortunate: University of Buffalo Women’s Soccer
- Yasmin Hill: University of Wisconsin Women’s Diving
- Jackson Mauro: St. Lawrence University Men’s Football
- Marc Milano: Vassar College Men’s Baseball
- Aidan Murnane: Colgate University Men’s Lacrosse
- Kyle Proctor: Ithaca College Men’s Lacrosse
- Jolie Wasserman: Carnegie Mellon University Women’s Track and Field
Briarcliff is so incredibly proud of these talented student athletes and wishes them well as they enter the next chapter of their athletic career.
At Briarcliff High School’s NCAA Press Conference, Coach Drosopoulos was happy to announce that Briarcliff has four additional future NCAA athletes in the graduating class of 2021.
Caroline Adam’s will be the newest addition to Bowdoin College’s Women’s Squash team! Caroline has been playing squash competitively since fourth grade and was a four-year co-captain for the BHS girls squash team, helping start the BHS girl’s Squash team. The Briarcliff Community wishes Caroline good luck at school and on the court!
T.J. Collins is headed to Colby College to not only run for the Men’s Cross Country Team, but also the Men’s Track Team! T.J. was a four-year Varsity member of BHS’s cross county, winter track, and spring track team’s, a two-year captain of the Spring Track team, and a senior captain of his three sports. His hard work definitely paid off as he received multiple awards and honors for running, including All-League and All-County honors for Cross country. Briarcliff is so excited to see what T.J. will do as a Colby student athlete!
Darrien Johnsen will be joining Tufts University’s Men Swim Team! From his early days on ClubFit Briarcliff, to his countless years on SMC Storm Aquatics, and his four years on BHS’s Varsity Boys Swim and Dive team, Darrien has loved to swim. While he excels in Breaststroke, he also qualifies for State Championships in his Medley Relays. Darrien has many accolades, but one of his biggest accomplishments has been qualifying for the Futures Championships and Winter Junior Nationals. Darrien will do many great things at Tufts, and the whole Briarcliff community wishes him well!
Isabel Schumacher will be playing Women’s Squash at Connecticut College! Isabel played at the #1 rank in middle school, and helped lead the girls squash team to their own program at BHS, being a four year co-captain. Isabel is expected to play in the top three singles positions in her first year and is extremely excited to join her two fellow recruits for Connecticut College. We hope the best for Isabel as she heads to Conn College and excels as a student-athlete.
